Police Clearance Certificate

A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is an official document issued by the Indian Consulate or High Commission, confirming that the applicant has no criminal record or involvement with the Indian police. It is typically required when an individual is applying for immigration, long-term visas, or residential status in a foreign country. The certificate serves as proof of the applicant's good conduct and is an essential part of many international documentation processes.

For those holding foreign passports, the PCC application is accepted only after pre-approval, and its issuance depends on clearance from the appropriate Indian authorities. It is important that the applicant’s passport remains valid for the entire duration of the PCC application process.

Note: Old passport shall be cancelled by the High Commission and cannot be used for travel once application for reissue is accepted.
