Attestation of the Power of Attorney (POA)

The attestation of a Power of Attorney (POA) issued in India for use in Australia involves multiple steps to ensure its legal validity. First, the POA must be notarized by a registered Notary Public in India. It then needs to be attested or apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, through the CPV Division in New Delhi. After this, if the POA is not an original government-issued document, it should be notarized by an Australian Notary Public to be legally recognized in Australia. This process authenticates the POA, making it acceptable for legal, financial, and administrative purposes within Australia.
